As a National Association for Legal Support Professionals (NALS), ALP partner, students are prepared to take the NALS certification exam(s) of their qualification.
Minimum Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
The Paralegal Legal Assistant certificate course is designed to prepare you to be a valuable member of the legal team, private or public. Paralegals, sometimes called Legal Assistants, work in law firms, government agencies, business corporations, and nonprofits - anywhere that a lawyer may need assistance.
The program provides the knowledge, skills, and ethical reasoning necessary to enter the job market as a Legal Assistant.
Students will study topics such as legal terminology; legal process; jurisdiction and venue; ethics; written communications including letters, pleadings, discovery, notices, and motions; filing procedures, legal research; memoranda preparation, and citation format.
