Short Course Description
This course highlights pertinent Florida Child Support guidelines, found at Florida Statute 61.30 and the use of the Florida Supreme Court approved Child Support Work Sheet, 12.902 (e). Students will follow the manual preparation of form 12.902 as well as the execution of a web-based form found on the Florida Supreme Court Self Help Center, Family Forms.
Family Mediators are likely to assist a divorcing couples with minor children with the negotiations involving the child support. It is therefore, imperative for the Family Mediator to understand and know how to calculate such support, available resources and applicable rules governing child support calculations in Florida.

Basic, but a nice review.
Good, would have liked to know how to calculate if a parent’s net income or their combined incomes is below the $800 minimum on the Worksheet since the FS 61.30 specifically tells you how to calculate the child support if combined income is above $10,000
This is probably the best topic I learned from that was interactive.
Very informative course.
There were a few mistakes and omissions throughout the class, such as incorrect annual income re Financial Affidavit (less than $50,000, not $5000), Form 12.902(b) and (c) instead of Form 902, etc. The calculation demonstration is a helpful tool and wonderful, but should be edited/shortened.
