Short Course Description

Family disputes stem from various issues. The family may voluntarily submit to mediation or are court-ordered. Court-ordered mediation is a mandatory mediation session ordered by a judge or court in a divorce proceeding. Parties who participate in private mediation will have the opportunity to discuss child custody, visitation, support, and property division issues and anything presented in the session will remain confidential and can’t be used by either spouse in court if you can’t reach an agreement. It wise that the Family mediator has a working understanding of family matter when facilitating family dispute resolution sessions.  The presenter starts with a discussion on family law and includes discussions on marriage, parental obligations and adoption, child custody issues, divorce requirements, and prenuptial agreements.  The presenter closes with a discussion on the writing of wills and trusts and the administration of one’s estate after death.
