Short Course Description
The Employment Law for Human Resources is a 3CEU credit (30 Clock Hour) course. Students who successfully complete this course will gain insight into the pivotal role human resources plays in helping organizations be successful. The course will focus on the impact of federal and state legislation as it pertains to labor and employment law in the public and private sector workplace. Students will learn the various functions of HR and their relationship to the role of management and how to effectively identify and manage the employment law issues that they will face as human resource professionals. The courses explore the historical roots of HR in organization life and the application of the law to the present-day workplace including wrongful discharge, harassment, interviewing, selection, compensation, and benefits.
