Elder Mediation Continuing Education Credits

This recorded Elder Mediation Certificate Course is designed for Continuing Education for mediators, lawyers, and mental health professionals licensed or certified in Florida. Some states may allow for reciprocity. It is a 16-hour live online course intended to develop skills in elder care dispute resolution, both for mediators and non-mediators.

For the purposes of this training, elder mediation is defined as the mediation of matters involving one or more individuals with issues related to aging, illness, incapacity, or other vulnerabilities associated with persons 60 years of age or older.

Be at the forefront of mediating and helping elders and their families work together to make effective decisions. This training covers critical areas such as driving privileges, staying in the home, and addressing financial and health concerns, all of which significantly impact the quality of life.

Continued Education Credits

  • Mediators: 16.0 CME, including 2.0 Ethics, 2.0 IPV, and 1.0 in Diversity.
  • Attorneys: CLE - General 16.0, Bias 1.5, Ethics 5.0.CLE Certification Credits: Elder Law 16.0, Marital and Family Law 1.0.
    Florida Psychologists and Mental Health Professionals: 14 CEUs (CE Broker).

Guno Ritfeld is a retired Department of Defense Commissioned Officer. He has earned a B.A. in Psychology/Education, a Juris Doctorate (J.D.), and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree. He is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil, Family, and County mediator and has served as a County mediator at the Orange County courthouse. He served as a member of the City of Orlando Certification Appeals Board and Chapter 57 Discrimination Board, and as a contract Human Rights Mediator and Administrative Investigator for various state and federal agencies. He is an experienced commercial, workplace, and family dispute mediator and arbitrator.
