Short Course Description
The Family Mediation Services Certificate Course is a Live and Interactive, Instructor-led, 20 Clock hours program. The program is designed for participants who want to begin a career in Family Mediation Services assisting couples contemplating Divorce build consensus on matters such as child custody, visitation, division of property, spousal support, and child education and support. It explores the fundamentals of a successful mediation process for a family with an emphasis on issues surrounding marital separation and divorce. Students will learn the basic principles of mediation, confidential and voluntary process, encouraging the parties' self-determination. Special considerations surrounding domestic violence, spousal, or child abuse. The course also explores the psychological effect of family separation on the parents and the children. Although the program does not endorse any State Court Family Mediation program. This program closely follows the recommended Florida Supreme Court training guidelines.
