Short Course Description

This interactive presentation is designed to address the private family ADR practitioner in the state of Florida. It recommends a thematic and systematic approach to assisting pro-se family clients seeking assistance to resolve various family disputes, specifically Dissolution of Marriage (Divorce). It guides and recommends approaches that follow the legal and ethical standards (rules) set forth by the Florida Statutes and the Florida Supreme Court Rules for Court Certified and Appointed Mediators. Finally, it reviews Unlicensed  Practice of  Law (UPL) cases; Florida Bar v. Legal Express.

    I thought the content was very good, but I got annoyed with how often there would be dead air silence for no reason. Seemed like it was cut together roughly.

Guno Ritfeld is a retired Department of Defense Commissioned Officer. He has earned a B.A. in Psychology/Education, a Juris Doctorate (J.D.), and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree. He is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil, Family, and County mediator and has served as a County mediator at the Orange County courthouse. He served as a member of the City of Orlando Certification Appeals Board and Chapter 57 Discrimination Board, and as a contract Human Rights Mediator and Administrative Investigator for various state and federal agencies. He is an experienced commercial, workplace, and family dispute mediator and arbitrator.
